Hello everyone,
I am currently performing an FEA study of a keyed shaft–hub coupling using SolidWorks Simulation and would appreciate guidance on the correct way to apply torque in the model. Specifically, I am unsure whether the torque should be applied on the cylindrical surface of the shaft or on the end face of the shaft as a torsional moment. I have attached two images of my setup for your review and would be grateful for any professional insight.
