Nice challenge! I did it with solid feature and i have no idea how to create it with surfaces with only one feature.

Sentfus, does mirror element counts as feature?

Yes I think. I created it with 1 feature in Inventor. I´m not sure if it´s possible also in other CAD Systems. If not try it with as less as possible features.

Inventor. One feature. Easy once you let the CAD system calculate the extrusion angle and depth

yang bevis, your angles don't seem to be accurate.

You should subtract your calculated angle from 90 degrees.

Let the CAD system calculate the extrusion depth and angle then use those in as parameters in the actual extrusion feature. Note the 7.071 depth and the 35.26 degree angle.

Easy one for me (I had a similar project several months ago), and I have several CATIA solutions:

Solid with Draft (2 features)

Surface Sweep (1 feature)

and Solid Combine (1 feature)

Yes, I didn't see the content of the challenge clearly, I thought it was a feature command to make an octahedron
