I’m a CAD teacher, and I would like to recommend GrabCAD to my students. However, the sexually suggestive advertisements that appear on the site are disturbing and completely inappropriate for this kind of technical and educational audience.
For example, one ad read: “This young amish girl doesn’t leave much to the imagination.”
This kind of content is not only unprofessional but also borderline exploitative, culturally offensive, voyeuristic, and sexually suggestive.
A CAD community should be a place for innovation and collaboration, not this type of material.
Can we do better? Is this really the only way to keep the platform alive?
You have never contributed to this forum and you're complaining about some upload?
There are mods who spend their hours removing all the crap that some fools upload.
So, if they miss anything contact the Yasin, instead of posting here.
Hi there,
I advised Marc to post the question on this group, since it wouldve been the most relevant place (at the time), as oppose to the questions section here on the site.
But thank you for directing the attention toward an admin. Hopefully the matter can be attended to.
Best regards
Who cares, why would you advise another user to post a totally relevant post.
Best if you both stop posting.
Because i have the freedom to advise, thats why.
Thank you once again for tagging an admin. You've done your part.
Well, as far as I know, this kind of advertising is targeted, filtered, and personalized based on the type of content each person consumes.
Thanks for sharing. I wasnt aware of this. Fortunately im not the one with the issue with ads😄.
Appreciate the insight👍.
The ads are displayed automatically by Google Ads.
From our admin panel on Google, we cannot see or control individual ads, but we can limit the ad providers.
For inappropriate ads, you can report the providers to us (A) or to Google (B).
Here's how:
On one of the corners of the ad (usually top right or bottom left) there should be two small buttons: one letter (i) and one with three dots
Method A: Reporting to us:
1. Click the (i) button
2. A new browser tab will open
3. In the "About this advertiser" section, there should be a field called "Advertiser"
4. Report this advertiser to us, by posting it here or directly sending a message to one of the admins (I am one of them). Please include the advertiser name and why do you think the ad is inappropriate
5. We will block that provider
Method B: Reporting yourself
1. Click the three dots (...) button
2. Click the blue "Send feedback" button
3. choose "Ad was inappropriate" button (3rd from the top)
Please do not open any links and do not make calls (including WhatsApp) to any numbers from messages sent by accounts such as Grabcad Verification, etc. - these are phishing ones. Please do not make any payments. Our security team is currently working on a solution.
