I am unable to use the CAM and FOLLOWER mechanism for a knife-edge follower. Please help.

I don't know how to apply the mechanism to the follower edge. When I select the edge, I get a message 'Please select some CAM geometry'. I have to do this for a project. I'll be grateful to anyone who can help me with this, Thank you in advance.
