How does your company handle unauthorized reprinting once a design file leaves your facility?
Curious how engineers and operations teams think about this in practice.
When a design file gets sent to a contract printer, service bureau, or remote facility — what actually stops them from printing more copies than what was authorized? Is this something your organization actively manages, or does it mostly run on trust and contracts?
I've been talking to people across aerospace, automotive, and medical device manufacturing and getting very different answers. Some say it's a significant operational concern, others say it rarely comes up. Trying to understand where the real pain is.
Would genuinely appreciate hearing how your team handles it — whether that's NDAs, watermarking, encrypted files, or just not worrying about it at all.
