In SolidWorks I had to make two sketches and two operations (one sweep and one extrusion). I can't think of anything better.

Using a sweep and then an extrude is the obvious, if not the only, way to do this with the least number of features. So, I decided to take a different approach. How many features does it take if you can't use a sweep? I did it with 5 features.

I have always liked this approach (stacking operations) because it is very flexible for modifying the geometry. Often the CADD model needs, for example, to be converted into a CAE model to perform structural or other verifications, and it is very convenient to be able to "suppress geometry that is not relevant to the type of simulation" as happens with some fillet radii, holes and other small details that are not significant for certain strength verifications and unnecessarily increase the computational cost (due to meshing and calculation). For example, at least in SolidWorks, a fillet radius included in a sketch is awkward and does not allow a value of "0" to try to temporarily remove it from the geometry.

This is a very simple part and perhaps none of this is necessary, but as a concept that can be extrapolated to large parts it is.

Bob, in Inventor can you assign a zero value to a fillet radius or a measurement in general?

You cannot make a fillet zero. You can make a dimension constraint zero. That includes radius dimensions.

I haven't found a way to make it a single op, but this double op is still fast.
