Below is a general outline of my services and capabilities.
Services overview
• 3D scanning of existing parts for reverse engineering, fit checks and documentation
• 3D printing of functional prototypes and appearance models
• Product design and SolidWorks CAD development for manufacture
• Production drawings, basic assemblies and support through to local fabrication
3D scanning
3D scanner, suitable for small components through to larger assemblies. Volumetric accuracy around 0.02 mm
Typical outputs include cleaned STL/OBJ meshes for direct use in CAD or 3D printing, and optionally rebuilt CAD surfaces/solids (STEP, Parasolid, etc.) for engineering work.
3D printing
• Ultimaker S5 (FDM)
Dual-extrusion FDM printer suited to functional plastics, brackets, housings and jigs.
Build volume approximately 330 x 240 x 300 mm
• Formlabs Form 4 (SLA)
High-resolution resin printer for fine detail parts, enclosures and small components.
Build volume approximately 200 x 125 x 210 mm
CAD and design (SolidWorks, Fusion360)
Design and engineering work is completed in SolidWorks, including:
• Fully parametric 3D models that are easy to modify and iterate
• Detailed 2D drawings with dimensions, tolerances and basic GD&T where required
• Sheet metal, weldments and plastic parts set up for fabrication or tooling
• Export of STEP, IGES and drawing PDFs to suit your manufacturer
