The drive shaft of a car is a mechanical device that transmits torque from the engine to the wheels of the car. The drive shaft plays a key role in the transmission of motion from the engine to the wheels, thereby ensuring the movement of the car. The car has a full, intermittent drive. Front drive shafts transmit torque from the engine to the front wheels. Rear drive shafts transmit torque to the rear wheels. All-wheel drive provides a more even distribution of torque between the front and rear wheels, which improves handling and stability on the road. The car has the ability to turn on or off all-wheel drive. The drive shaft consists of several sections-hinges to compensate for changes in the angle of the wheels when the car is moving. It is important to regularly service the drive shaft and lubricate its components to ensure efficient operation and prevent wear. The front wheel drive transmits torque from the gearbox to the front steered wheels. The front wheel drive is a cardan transmission, which includes a shaft, outer and inner joints. The shaft 10 of the drive is made solid. At the ends of the shaft there are splines for installing the outer and inner joints of the drive. The outer joint of the front wheel drive consists of a housing 1, a cage 3, six balls 4 and a separator 7. Inside the housing of the joint and outside its cage there are special grooves in which the balls are placed. The balls provide a movable connection of the housing and the cage of the joint. The cage of the joint is fixedly fixed on the splined end of the shaft by a locking 2 and thrust 8 rings. The joint is protected from dust, dirt and moisture by a cover 9, which has a protective casing 6.
