I usually see some people posted they adds in the discussion, thise adds usually with a website,i m not sure that approved by the gcad offical, and also the provided website is a secure one.
Keep the site clean of advertisements, which has contributed a lot to all of us.
The once free of charge Grabcad community is now monetized by Google's ads. The influence of Google's restrictions in terms of what is acceptable or not have pushed away many engineers, me between them. That is a move with no going back.
I don't completely oppose the Google ads on this website. After all, this website is a public welfare-oriented one. I also support using ads to cover the unavoidable costs for server operation. However, I am currently discussing the phenomenon of users commenting on the ads under the discussion projects of everyone.
As long as the advertisements do not interfere with users' normal experience and the content of the advertisements is properly reviewed, I believe that gradually people's views on website advertisements will change.
Ads posted as inline comments are usually just spam created by bots. No legitimate Grabcad users are posting comments with advertisement links.
Whenever is see a comment with advertising links I immediately report it as spam. I also report the “user” that created it as a spammer.
Hi, as this website costs quite a bit to run - I'm working with Stratasys to ensure that we can keep this resource available for people post acquisition (10 years ago). As a result ads have become a neccessary part of continuing to run the grabcad community.
We have tried to provide the ads in a way that is sensitive to the users, for this reason we have reputation based advertising, the higher your reputation the fewer ads you will see.
The idea being that the more you contribute the better experience you should have.
We are using this funding to completely change how grabcad.com is deployed in such a way that we can make changes faster, it will take time.
I also read in this thread about users who are posting links to their own ads - via images and inline links in comments, these are something that we try to flag and neutralise on a daily basis, it's quite a big task so we have made some changes to help reduce those comments through some automation.
In addition we're in the process of trying to update the wesite to support more modern versions of CAD systems (again this is a whole process so bear with us).
Thanks for your continued support
Please do not open any links and do not make calls (including WhatsApp) to any numbers from messages sent by accounts such as Grabcad Verification, etc. - these are phishing ones. Please do not make any payments. Our security team is currently working on a solution.
